10 Movies That Pissed People Off Before They Even Released
5. Minecraft

One danger when adapting a video game into a movie is that it has to feel like that game has been brought to the screen. Far too often, only certain elements are brought across from the source material and it feels completely removed from what made the game so popular in the first place.
This was clearly the case with Borderlands in 2024, and appears to be the case one year later with Minecraft. There are plenty of things audiences already have gripes with when it comes to the Minecraft movie, one of the biggest being the fact that it is going to be live-action.
There are still the same visual elements from the game, though the aesthetics haven't exactly wowed people from the off, but turning Steve into a real-life human is a strange decision, and particularly bringing Jack Black in to play him.
Coming off the back of recent turmoil and controversy in his Tenacious D career, as well being on the receiving end of two separate Razzie nominations in 2025 (Worst Actor as Satan in Dear Santa, and Worst Supporting Actor as Claptrap in Borderlands), it has been a long time since Black's stock has been this low. There isn't too much excitement around this film with its release right around the corner.
