10 Movies That Pissed People Off Before They Even Released
4. Shrek 5

It's not just video game characters that need to live up to certain expectations prospective audiences build up for themselves, and it's not just Sonic the Hedgehog that pissed people off with nothing more than a first look.
Take Shrek for example. The giant green ogre first made his way onto the big screen back in 2001 and has enjoyed three further sequels of varying quality. 15 years removed from Shrek 4, Mike Myers' character - along with Cameron Diaz's Fiona and Eddie Murphy's Donkey - are returning for Shrek 5.
Universal Pictures recently dropped a first look at the film, with a short clip that sees the three major characters, along with Zendaya as Shrek and Fiona's child, watching something of a medieval TikTok in the magic mirror. However, nothing stands out more than how different Shrek 5 looks from the original movie 24 years ago.
Of course, animation has come a long way since then, but to many, this has been a backward step. Out of all three characters, it's Fiona who looks the most different, and while the animation itself may be slicker, more akin to the Puss in Boots movies than to how Shrek typically looks, the teaser has divided opinion between moving with the times, and not wanting things to change.
