10 Movies You Didn't Know Were Named After Songs

1. Bridge Of Spies

Chris Evans Knives Out
Paramount Pictures

Bridge Of Spies tells the story of lawyer James B. Donovan (Tom Hanks), who is trying to negotiate the release of a US Air Force pilot in exchange for convicted KGB spy Rudolf Abel (Mark Rylance). Set at the height of the Cold War, the bridge referenced in the title is the Glienicke Bridge. It was part of the border between West Berlin and East Germany, and it was often used as a trading point between convicted intelligence officers of both sides, hence the nickname.

But, this Steven Spielberg directed film was not the first to use the Bridge Of Spies title. In 1987 British pop band T'Pau would release a single of the same name. Again, the song is about the Glienicke Bridge, but it was another political prisoner that T'Pau were singing about.

Their song was inspired by the exchange of Natan Sharansky from the USSR to the USA. He was the last prisoner to be handed over via the bridge in 1986. Although both the film and song share the same title, and are about the same subject, T'Pau's effort was not used for the soundtrack.
