10 Movies You Hate For The Wrong Reasons

1. Law Abiding Citizen

Why You Hate It: Because it's basically a violent collision of Saw and Death Wish, complete with a hammy-as-hell Gerard Butler performance.

And some people don't like these things, apparently. As shamelessly silly as the movie is, it's also thoroughly self-aware and, to be honest, a ton of kitschy fun if accepted on its own daft terms. To a point, anyway.

Why You Should Hate It: Jamie Foxx's douchebag D.A. character ruins the fun at the final stretch by defeating Butler's vengeful, bereaved husband and father, blowing him up with his own bomb.

Fans and haters alike have widely criticised the ending, which was reportedly part of an on-set rewrite by Foxx, who threatened to walk if the film ended with Butler's character winning as planned. Yikes.

Clearly the film should've ended with Butler winning, or better yet, both of their characters being engulfed by the bomb, serving as the ultimate damning critique of both the criminal justice system and vigilante justice.

Ultimately, it's an ending so ill-judged it sours the entire bonkers experience.

Do you agree with the analysis of these widely-loathed movies? Got any more examples to add? Shout them out in the comments!
