The inspiration for this list. Seriously how lucky is humanity that this film is actually being made? Nicolas Cage is playing Nicolas Cage in a movie!
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, is written by Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten and directed by the former. Plot details are still hazy but it is said that this version of Cage is down on his luck and low on cash so must accept a $1 million-dollar cheque to perform at a private event for a wealthy fan (hardly fictional that Nicolas Cage would have money problems).
The film with a proposed released date of March 19, 2021 follows Cage who will “become a version of some of his most iconic and beloved characters” to liberate himself from a ‘dangerous situation’.
The film sounds insane but in the right hands could be truly compelling and fresh. Think Being John Malkovich meets Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, with a hint of Vampire’s Kiss…and Ghost Rider.
