10 Movies You Won’t Believe Are In Development
4. All-Star Weekend
To those not acquainted with the NBA’s All-Star-Weekend, it is essentially a weekend festival held every February that consists of events, exhibitions and contests culminating in the NBA All-Star Game. It would seem highly unlikely, that what is basically a pre-season break would inspire a Hollywood movie starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr.
But this is exactly what has happened. Little is known about the project, but the story apparently focusses on two friends who support opposing NBA stars LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Foxx who also writes and directs, is joined not only by Downey Jr. but also Benicio del Toro, Ken Jeong and Gerard Butler.
With such casting, it remains unclear how this sports comedy drama will turn out. On the surface, it seems like a vanity project for Foxx who has called in the help of several famous faces.
It’s difficult to tell whether All-Star Weekend will be a slam dunk or a flop.
