Whichever genius was responsible for this movie needs both a pat on the back and a smack upside the head - Freddy vs Jason is terrible and fantastic. It’s a story much like the comic book crossovers we all love - like when Civil War pit friends against each other, and all our arguments about “who’s more powerful” are answered.

Or like the insane Marvel vs. Capcom video games where Wolverine can fight Chun-Li. It’s a fanboy’s dream come true.

But, dear lord, Freddy vs Jason is bad. Making Freddy dress up as Jason’s mum to resurrect Jason just so he could get out of hell is one of the dumbest plot ideas ever, and yet it’s strangely amazing. The film is mostly a typical slasher movie, just with two different killers, until the two fight in the film’s final third. It’s absolutely stupid and over-the-top, but if you’re a fan of either franchise you’re gonna love this movie.
