5. Night At The Museum 3
Shawn Levy is the master of taking interesting concepts and turning them into rather bland movies, mining little of their potential. His Night At The Museum series personifies this; the first movie goes little beyond the basic premise and while the sequel expands it, any ideas presented are explored only at face level. So fans of disappointment will rejoice to hear that a third entry in the fantasy series is on its way. It makes sense Levy would return to safe ground after a couple of relative failures (Date Night and Real Steel), but the box office success is far from certain. The first film made over half a billion, but on an increased budget, the sequel made noticeably less. If this downward turn continues, this threequel may not even make a profit. Unfunny man Ben Stiller is yet again heading up the cast, but with the greatest assets from the sequel (Amy Adams as Amelia Earheat and Hank Azaria as an evil, lisping pharaoh) killed off, its doubtful his shtick will carry a movie.
