10 Non-Christmassy Christmas Films To Watch At Christmas

3. Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle

The Chronicles of Narnia
Sony

A sequel to the 1995 Robin Williams Jumanji movie - itself based on Chris Van Allsburg's children's book - Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is sure to have the whole family captivated by the amazing adventure the core cast of characters go on. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart, there is something for everyone in this modern comedy classic.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, Welcome to the Jungle is one of the first comedy movies in a long time to do the whole 'body swap' thing perfectly. The film gives off the strong fun vibe of Freaky Friday, whilst being relevant enough for today's audiences to connect with it. Let's face it, who doesn't want to see Jack Black playing a social media-obsessed teenage girl, or the Rock being a scared nerd?

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle also plays upon the tropes of video games, with the movie often using gimmicks from games to further the plot of the movie. Since it seems all kids do today is game and TikTok (so I've heard...), this Jumanji offering is unquestionably going to be a fun break from those bad habits.

Suspend your disbelief and embrace the weirdness and awesomeness of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
