10 Non-Essential Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters We’ve (Sadly) Only Seen Once

1. Arnim Zola (Captain America: The First Avenger)

Arnim Zola Although the Red Skull was the major villain in Captain America: The First Avengers, Arnim Zola was just as memorable. He is a German scientist who worked for HYDRA before and during World War II. Having previously been an employee of the Nazi Sturmabteilung, he was recruited by Johann Schmidt (Red Skull) to become the main weapons and technology designer for HYDRA under Schmidt's evil dictatorship (working on projects such as the Valkyrie plane, armoured exo-skeletons for soldiers and HYDRA's projectile weaponry incorporating energy from the Tesseract). Although he would, naturally, be long dead in terms of his human life, it would be great to see him return working for HYDRA as a cyborg (this is one of my favourite ideas for the future of the MCU) and he is expected to reappear in next year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier (though likely only in flashbacks). As a major key to the development of HYDRA as a truly global threat, it is not unfathomable that they might have wanted to preserve him in cyborg form - meaning that his return as a being living in the present isn't as unlikely as it might sound. I would love to see him working for the modern HYDRA or as a weapons developer for an MCU Masters of Evil team. So there you have it; Ten non-essential Marvel Cinematic Universe character that we've only seen once (but who we'd like to see again). Do you agree with this list?
