9. Yaadein (1964)
Likelihood is that you've never heard of
Yaadein, because it's an Indian movie from 1964, was filmed in black and white, is incredibly difficult to find, and doesn't have Ryan Reynolds in it. It does have a specific place in history, though, given that it was given a spot in the
Guinness Book of Records for - at the time - having the "fewest actors in a narrative film" ever. That's to say, only writer/director Sunil Dutt appears in the movie. The plot concerns a man who returns home one day and find his family are gone. Assuming that they've disappeared without him on purpose, he begins to recall their time together and ponders what, exactly, might've driven them away. At 113 minutes long, it's pretty tough going, but it's an interesting and ultimately satisfying movie that showcases how a microscopic budget can be used to good effect. Look out for the silhouette at the end of the movie - that's the only moment where somebody other than Dutt appears.
