8. Admiral Ackbar - 84 Years Of Age

Yes, yes, we all know it’s a trap.

Having been a fan favourite part of the original Star Wars trilogy thanks to his memorable appearance in helping the Rebel Alliance topple the Empire in Return of the Jedi, many long-time franchise fans were grinning from ear to ear upon seeing Admiral Ackbar appear in The Force Awakens. Those same fans, however, were left furious when the Mon Calamari was killed off-screen during The Last Jedi and not even afforded a significant or notable death scene.

At the time of his death in TLJ, Gial Ackbar – you can call him Admiral if you like, though it’s Gial to his friends – would have been 84 years of age. That doesn’t have him quite hitting the highs of being the oldest Star Wars character we’ve seen, but it’s definitely a number that’s enough to see Ackbar make it into the lower echelons of this list.

He may only have had fleeting appearances throughout his cinematic Star Wars run, yet very few supporting characters have had quite the same impact as Admiral Ackbar.
