8. Grand Romantic Gestures Are Totally Not Creepy At All
Of course, it follows that you're much more likely to get away with schemes like this if you happen to resemble an attractive young Hollywood star, but even then, we all have our limits. Romantic comedies too often seem to confuse a deeply romantic gesture with one that's overly presumptuous to the point of creepiness; after all, wouldn't a good number of women just call the cops on John Cusack if he stood outside their window blaring bad music at them? Even discounting stalking, it's damn sound pollution! What we're duped into thinking is sweet is often just pathetic, or in its worst instance completely unhinged.
