10 Overblown Film Directors Who Need To Learn The Meaning Of Restraint
3. James Cameron
James Cameron hasn't become one of the world's most successful directors by making small budget indie flicks and that's fine. Anyone who enters the cinema to see a Cameron movie knows what they're in for; an incredible combination of epic storytelling and state of the art effects. In that sense, you could argue Cameron doesn't deserve a place on this list. However, have you seen what he's got lined up? Due to the success of Avatar, Cameron has planned a sequel to be released in 2016... and another one in 2017... and a third sequel in 2018. What happened to not counting your blue skinned chickens before they hatch? It may be unlikely, but Avatar 2 might bomb and then what have we got left? Two more horrendous sequels to look forward to. I worry that Cameron may actually be one of the machines he prophesied would take over in The Terminator, because he's also planning to adapt a novel called The Informationist as well as a film based on the manga series Battle Angel Alita AND another film depicting the atomic bombings of Japan in WWII. PHEW! I feel lazy just writing about him.
