Why The Film Is Questionable: It's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The Overlooked Positive: Finding anyone willing to take up the cape and cowl with Christian Bale's growling Dark Knight still etched in the collective memory was going to be a hard task, and getting an A-List, multiple-Oscar winner was nigh on impossible. And yet Zack Snyder got Ben Affleck, someone not only possessing the two key attributes needed for a great on-screen Batman - acting chops and the chin - but a high media profile to boot. Bizarrely the immediate reaction was incredibly negative, with people quick to dig up memories of Daredevil (and, less appropriately, Gigli), which flies in the face of a recent career resurgence that's shown he can do wounded like the best of them. Shelving all the knee-jerk hate, and this is the one shining light in a production riddled with stupid decisions, suggesting there's some potential in the project.
