10 Perfect Comic Book Castings That Need To Happen (But Probably Won’t)
6. Ana De Armas – Mystique
Considering her meteoric rise in Hollywood, it’s baffling that Marvel or DC hasn’t snapped up Ana de Armas yet. The Cuban actress’s multifacetedness may be her greatest strength, as she is equally comfortable in action and drama.
Although de Armas is an incredibly talented actress, as her Academy Award nomination shows, she has found her forte for the rough and tumble. As such, Kevin Feige should look no further than the Knives Out star when looking to cast his Mystique within the MCU. Both a friend and foe, Mystique is a master manipulator and martial artist.
The 35-year-old would flourish in the role if given the chance, and the martial artistry in hand should prove no stumbling block for her whatsoever as No Time to Die exhibited.
A behind-the-scenes look at Daniel Craig’s 007 bow out showcased de Armas' commitment and dedication to her craft and choreography. If that wasn’t enough to convince you, she will lead the line for her own spin-off set within the John Wick universe. Titled Ballerina, de Armas will play an assassin who's out for revenge against those who killed her family.
She ticks a lot of boxes needed to play Mystique, however, her John Wick commitments may be long-lasting which would leave little room for an MCU role as of now.
