10 Potentially Awesome Movies Released In May 2015
7. Far From The Madding Crowd
Period dramas have to be something special to attract a mainstream audience - for many they can be rather dull, perhaps a reflection of how much more reserved people's lives were generations ago. Thomas Vinterberg's adapatation of Thomas Hardy's 19th century novel Far From The Madding Crowd might not be a candidate for the kind of period drama which breaks the conventions of the genre, but if the early reviews are anything to go by this is Carey Mulligan's movie through and through. Mulligan has had a fantastic run of quality roles recently, appearing in the Coens' Inside Llewyn Davis and Steve McQueen's excellent Shame, and Far From The Madding Crowd could add another feather in an increasingly colourful cap.
