3. Duplicate Characters

There is already an issue with there being duplicates of characters, should these franchises merge, what with Quicksilver already having appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past and another portrayal of the character set to appear in next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Bearing in mind any potential merger between the franchises is a long way off, it's probably fair to assume that there will be more duplicates to come in the next few years, considering the number of characters who are quite important in the combined histories of the likes of the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. How Marvel, Sony and Fox would deal with such an issue is very hard to imagine because it would, frankly, create one hell of a mess.
