10 Problems Terminator Genisys Sequel Must Address

2. Bring Back The R-Rating

PG-13. It's a problem which has blighted action movie remakes for some time now, as the integrity of a franchise is compromised in the interests of pursuing the bottom dollar.

Terminator Genisys is on a par with the recent Robocop remake when it comes to toning down violence to the point where it becomes ineffective. When looking back to the original movie it becomes clear how much more powerful the violence can be when you see Arnie's Terminator ripping out a human heart or repeatedly shooting the other Sarah Connors repeatedly.

The Terminator is a vicious killing machine, and in toning down the violence to suit a younger audience the full impact of its singular purpose is lost. The box office success of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Mad Max has demonstrated that R-rated action movies can draw in audiences - making a sequel to Genisys Adults Only could help the core fans reconnect, taking it back to its hardcore roots.
