10 Questions A Sony Spider-Verse Must Answer

3. Will It Co-Exist With The MCU?

The Morbius trailer ended with a shot of Michael Keaton's Vulture, giving a hint that it may be connected to the wider MCU. Tom Hardy also teased Spider-Man in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but that could just be a work. With both films delayed, we'll have to wait to find out whether or not either of these films will exist within the MCU.

There is a small, small chance that Sam Rami slips in a Spider-Man cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but depending on what happens, it may be no more than a cheeky easter egg that doesn't tell us one way or another if Sony's new world is connected to the MCU.

If they don't answer this question in any of those films, then Sony must immediately establish their world as either one within the MCU or as an alternate universe that deliberately differentiates itself from the MCU.

Many fans will be able to instantly accept whatever convoluted excuse is created to either bind or separate these worlds, but the casual moviegoer may be easily confused. Sony needs to do well by diehard fans and the general public alike to ensure wide-stream commercial success.
