10 Questions You Should Be Asking About Batman Vs Superman

6. Where Does Wonder Woman Fit In?

As if having Batman and Superman facing off against each other in the same movie wasn't enough, the announcement that Wonder Woman would also make an appearance took many by surprise. With Gal Gadot's take on the character now set for her own solo feature that is set to hit theaters just months before Justice League Part One, speculation has been running rampant on just how the iconic Amazon will fit into Dawn of Justice's narrative. Producer Charles Roven recently revealed that the cinematic version of Wonder Woman would take her origin from the comic book's New 52 universe, which sees her as a demigod and child of Zeus. Quite how that will fit into the gritty aesthetic established in Man of Steel remains to be seen (even though Superman is an alien), or just how the character fits into the narrative at all. Given that Gadot takes third billing in the movie it would seem that Wonder Woman has a decent amount of screentime, while recent set photos reportedly show the construction of her home Themiscyra in the New Mexico desert. While it makes sense to introduce Wonder Woman to general audiences before launching her own potential franchise, with no official details available on the plot of Batman v Superman it seems difficult to figure out just how the character will fit into the story given the ever-expanding cast. The movie already needs to establish new cinematic versions of Batman, Alfred and Lex Luthor to name but three, not to mention set in motion a plot that sees Batman and Superman go head-to-head before resolving their differences in order to confront a common enemy. It just seems difficult to imagine how Wonder Woman will fit organically into the story, unless she is placed as the only being powerful enough to take on the Man of Steel head on.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
