4. The Music's Gonna Be Awesome

One of the most striking aspects of the trailer for Kong: Skull Island is its music, a pulsing beat that builds over the course of the run time, upping the tension before the emergence of Kong and the other beasts. The importance of music in film-making is high.

Which is why it's pretty exciting that the composer is Henry Jackman, someone who has done a bunch of great work in the industry. Two of his most exhilarating scores in recent memory are actually video game scores, for the games Just Cause 3 and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Jackson seems especially fitting given how the exaggerated colours and frequent use of CGI gives Kong: Skull Island a bit of a video game-y feel.

Jackson is also responsible for the music in Wreck-It Ralph (another video game connection), X-Men First Class, Kick-Ass, Captain Philips... the list of credentials goes on, making it a pretty safe bet the film's score is in safe, capable hands,
