10 Reasons You Shouldn't Be Worried About Jurassic World
6. Chris Pratt Has Had Several Serious Roles Before
Tied into some of the trailer's more seemingly awkward dialogue is the surprise that Chris Pratt was hired for Jurassic World yet doesn't appear to be playing a wise-cracking character of any kind. He delivers every line in the trailer with an unexpected solemnity that some audiences have found off-putting. Still, it's important to note that this may just be prejudice on the part of the audience: Pratt's delivery isn't exactly amazing, but it's hardly his fault if he's playing a serious part and audiences who have only seen him in Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy expected him to be a cocky dimwit. After all, Pratt has played a number of serious parts in his career, most memorably in Best Picture nominees Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty. so what's another? Granted, it's a surprise that Pratt was hired for a dramatic role when he clearly only won the role because of winning the Star-Lord role prior, but let's wait and see what he can serve up before summarily dismissing his performance off the bat.
