10 Reasons Spider-Man: Far From Home Is The Perfect Follow-Up To Avengers: Endgame
5. Mysterio Could Expose Us To The Dark Consequences Of Time Travel
As the new trailer shows, Jake Gyllenhaal’s character Mysterio makes himself known as having powers granted to him in the multiverse.
Now, if you’re completely unfamiliar with the character of Mysterio from the comics and want to go into discovering his character completely blind, maybe don’t read this next part.
Essentially, Mysterio’s whole deal is that he can create illusions to trick people into seeing what isn’t really there. He’s a failed Hollywood actor, visual effects artist and stuntman who turns his illusion powers to criminal paths.
Considering his theatrical tendencies in Hollywood and his magic powers, it’s likely that he’s lying through his teeth about being from the multiverse and is merely creating illusions to manipulate perceptions of alternate timelines further. As if we need any more of that after Endgame, but it’ll certainly solidify a few things in terms of what does and doesn’t occur in the multiverse once his tricks are exposed.
And if he is from the multiverse, spoiler alert: Mysterio is the villain in this film. He’ll certainly be bringing the dark side of the timelines with him.
