10 Reasons The Emperor’s New Groove Is The Best Disney Movie

4. Kronk

Forget Disney, Kronk may just be the most memorable henchman in all of film. Brought to life by Patrick Warburton, this strongman with a heart of gold was exactly what the film needed. He€™s the perfect foil to the menacing Yzma, with his hulking physical presence gives her villainy a layer of credibility and danger. While she€™s obsessed with seizing the throne, he€™ s more concerned with showing off his cooking and speaking to the wildlife. These little details make him a constant source of humour but also allow him to afford a layer of humanity to the film. Despite Kuzco€™s personal growth and Pacha€™s good nature, it€™s really Kronk who acts as the conscience of the film. He simply wants some validation and appreciation from Yzma, but knows where to draw the line and saves Kuzco as a result. It€™s clear how conflicted he is with some of his actions, and seeing him unencumbered by Yzma at the end of the film felt earned and enjoyable. Few secondary villains have the impact on their films that Kronk did, as his character provided not just riotous laughs but a good deal of heart as well.
