10 Reasons Why Skyfall Could Be One Of The Greatest Bond Films Ever Made

9. Daniel Craig - Third Time Lucky

Everyone has their own favourite Bond and most will willingly defend their own choice to be the definitive portrayal of 007. Perhaps you take the obvious route and favour Sean Connery€™s charismatic and iconic role as the famous secret agent. Are you the kind of person who likes to veto popular opinion and celebrate Timothy Dalton€™s much maligned depiction of a harder edged Bond. Maybe it€™s Roger Moore€™s slightly drunken uncle approach which does it for you, or Pierce Brosnan€™s drastic re-invention of Bond as a cocky aftershave model. We all have a personal favourite, and for me personally, Daniel Craig has quickly become the definitive Bond. With his debut in Casino Royale the decision was made to take Bond back to his roots with a performance that would become more closely aligned to Ian Fleming€™s original vision of the character. Daniel Craig€™s Bond is stoic, cold-hearted and vulnerable, while his rugged looks make him just as threatening as he is suave. As good as Daniel Craig is in the role, not even he could save Quantum of Solace from being such a disappointment. He certainly wasn€™t one of the problems with the movie, but whereas Casino Royale gave us a Bond who was capable of being bloodied and beaten, Quantum of Solace featured bombastic action sequences which had none of the emotional investment of his debut. Here€™s hoping that with Skyfall, Craig will have the freedom to deliver his best performance as Bond yet.
