10 Reasons X-Men Should Never Join The MCU

3. X-Men Already Has Multiple Universes

To be frank, the X-Men Universe(s) and timeline(s) are also so convoluted that there is absolutely no need to add a whole other layer to the story by having it join the MCU as well.

There's the original timeline that was all but retconned in Days of Future past, spawning a new timeline, however, the first timeline still exists in its own alternate universe and can potentially even be built upon while the new one moves forward. Which brings us to the issue of Logan, as it could potentially fit in either timeline, but for the time being is being treated as a standalone story.

Plus, on the TV side of things there's Legion, which takes place in an entirely different version of the X-Men cinematic universe just on its own. And, at this time, it's unclear as to exactly which of these numerous timelines The Gifted will take place in.

All of that said, the X-Men story has at least three and possibly even more universes to its name. Therefore, it would be far more beneficial to run with that and develop the various timelines than to conform to Marvel's. And considering that X-Men already has its own multiverse, to whom would an MCU tie-in that would only serve to make things even more complicated benefit?
