10 Recent Horror Movie Endings Nobody Can Agree On
1. Heart Eyes
Though most seem to agree that Heart Eyes was a winningly weird fusion of slasher flick and rom-com for its first hour-or-so, opinion is decidedly more mixed on its third act.
For some, the film found a perfectly natural stopping point when "Heart Eyes" is killed at the drive-in and revealed to be a totally random guy unknown to both the central characters and the audience.
But of course, this isn't really the end - this killer was actually just a fanboy working with the real Heart Eyes killers, Detective Shaw (Jordana Brewster) and her husband David (Yoson An), whose kink just so happens to be murder.
Except, the film makes it way too obvious that Shaw is in on it - her earlier encounter with Heart Eyes takes place off screen and she miraculously survives it, both of which should be instant red flags for anyone who's seen their fair share of slasher flicks.
To many, Heart Eyes should've committed to the random killer idea and wrapped up a little earlier, even though some evidently got a kick out of seeing Jordana Brewster ham it up as the campy villain.
