4. Lewis Pullman as Sentry/The Void - Thunderbolts*

It must be said that Lewis Pullman and Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier did the utmost job in doing justice to the character on screen, as those more familiar with his comic-book counterpart will tell you that he's not an easy puzzle to solve or piece together.

And although they appear wildly different in the film, Bob, Sentry and The Void are all parts of one person instead of separate entities. However, due to the domestic abuse he experienced in his childhood, which led to his drug addiction, the trauma Bob suffers from subsequently manifests into the latter and with devastating consequences.

Shrouded in shadow with glowing eyes, The Void is practically uncontrollable and seemingly unstoppable. It loves nothing more than inflicting pain and terror on those unfortunate to cross its path by sending them to a literal void of perilous despair where they must confront their greatest fears and biggest insecurities.

It's an entirely frightening premise executed perfectly in the film, solidifying that The Void is easily one of the best villains we have seen the MCU incorporate.

Lewis Pullman's performance is beautiful and haunting, rooted in emotional realism that will unequivocally pack a real and relatable punch for many people.

We may only have seen a snippet of what Sentry is capable of in comparison to The Void, but fans can be assured that this is just the tip of the iceberg, seeing as the character is confirmed to return in Avengers: Doomsday.
