5. John Henry

John Henry Terry Crews
Saban Films

As appealing as the prospect of a revenge thriller starring Terry Crews as a sledgehammer-wielding vigilante might sound, John Henry is a failure in almost every respect - garbage-tier writing, lackluster direction, and hilariously poor performances.

Though it's clear writer-director Will Forbes wants to make this a neo-Tarantino joint, it's neither witty nor creatively violent enough to fit the bill.

Crews is trying to prop the terrible filmmaking up, though the only truly memorable part of the movie is Ludacris' frequently unintentionally hilarious performance as the cartoonish villain of the piece.

Worse than anything else, this is just a lazy and pandering contemporary update of a legendary folkloric figure. You're better off waiting for the already-announced Dwayne Johnson-starring Netflix Original movie, John Henry and the Statesmen.
