8. Jimmy Olsen Is In It

The Rumour: Scoot McNairy's casting was announced a long time ago, and yet the identity of his part has remained under wraps ever since. McNairy was snapped on set wearing a suit at a courthouse and sporting green-screen socks, which caused some to speculate that he could be playing The Flash. The other, more substantial rumour is that he's in fact playing a new take on the Daily Planet's legendary Jimmy Olsen, who perhaps loses the lower portions of his legs in Man of Steel's final battle. How Likely Is It?: 6/10. This one is definitely possible, though at the same time McNairy could very well be playing an entirely new creation. But with so much already going on, does the movie really need Olsen to be shoved into the mix merely for the sake of fan service? There's a high probability it will feel token and unnecessary, but of course, we'd love to be wrong.
