10 Most Ridiculous Plot Holes In 2013 Movies

9. Malekith Forgets To Absorb The Aether - Thor: The Dark World

Thor Dark World 38The Movie: Thor must prevent a powerful MacGuffin from falling into the hands of a Dark Elf with no discernible personality, and he also gets to ride the London Underground. Loki does some good stuff and also some bad stuff - very him. The Plot Hole: Thor: The Dark World has one of those rubbish plots that amounts to nothing - it's about as bland and forgettable as an unbuttered slice of toast. The main villain, Malekith, is out to get something called the Aether, which is about as boring a plot device as the Tesseract from The Avengers, really. Still, Malekith wants the Aether so he can rule the world, and spends most of the movie trying to get it, which means Thor has to step in to sort him out. But at the very beginning of the movie, during the battle sequence between Malekith's forces and Odin's, Malekith is literally standing right next to the Aether - according to him, all he needs to do to become the ultimate power in the Universe is absorb the damn thing. And yet, this guy just surveys the battlefield, forgetting that he's already got what he came for. This scene goes by in something of a blur as you mistakenly try to piece together all the rubbish exposition, but the simple fact remains: Malekith just forgets to claim his prize. And now we have the whole movie.
