Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan's long-awaited film about the World War II battle of the same name, is shaping up to be one of the year's most amazing films: with amazing special effects, an epic scope, and a cast that includes Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, and... Harry Styles?
That's right: One Direction member Harry Styles, known for his boyish good looks and those fantastic hairdos, has been cast in substantial role in Nolan's war epic.
It's not that it's so weird for Styles to have taken on an acting part as much as it's weird for him to be in a Nolan film. Christopher Nolan and Harry Styles just don't mesh together on a gut level, so it'll be interesting to see whether this is an unexpected match made in heaven or one of those jarring pop star performances.
