10 Scariest Horror Movies Set In Motels
3. The Devil's Rejects
Since House of 1000 Corpses had an open ending, fans of Rob Zombie's film weren't surprised to see the murderous Firefly family return in the sequel, The Devil's Rejects.
After the authorities discover Captain Spaulding and his cronies are responsible for dozens of homicides, the cops hunt down the killer family, forcing them to go on the run. Realising they are outmanned and outgunned, the crazed maniacs take refuge in a motel, hoping to use hostages as leverage.
Good sequels are a rarity in the film industry, especially in the horror genre. But The Devil's Rejects is superior than its predecessor in virtually every way. Not only are the characters more defined and the dialogue is sharper, the scares and gore are more intense and visceral.
Don't let the R-rating fool you - this film deserves an X-Rating. The Devil's Rejects is Zombie's best and most brutal film so it's a must-watch if you're a fan of his work. But if you're a casual viewer, it's best to give this one a miss since some of the violence is not for the faint of heart.
