10 Scenes That Could Have Been Cut From Zack Snyder's Justice League

9. That Weird Aquaman Song

Justice League
Warner Bros.

Near the beginning of the film, Bruce Wayne tracks down Arthur Curry after learning he has superpowers. When he asks the Aquaman to join him, the Atlantean hybrid refuses and disappears in the water.

As we saw in the Whedon cut, this is the perfect opportunity to cut to the next scene. Instead, we see a trio of women singing while one of them goes up to Arthur's jumper and begins creepily fondling and sniffing it.

Although a film with a run time of four hours seems a bit extreme, it can be justified if each scene feels needed. Unfortunately, this moment comes across as cringey, superfluous, and jarring to the scene that preceded it.

It's clear Snyder was trying to convey that these people view the aquatic superhero like a guardian angel. But since we just saw the entire community protect Arthur's secret identity when Bruce attempted to expose him, this song just felt like padding. If it doesn't add anything new to the story or develop the characters, it should have found its way on the cutting room floor.
