10 Sci-Fi Movie Fates Worse Than Death

1. Becoming A Human Fly - The Fly

The Fly
20th Century Fox

In The Fly, Seth Brundle is an eccentric scientist who suffers from extreme motion sickness. He can barely handle a ride in a car, which is why he put all of his considerable intellect into the creation of "telepods," which were devices that made instantaneous teleportation possible.

His first experiments proved to be failures, as the telepods had no problem teleporting inanimate objects, but organic matter was another story. When he put a baboon through, it was turned inside-out, but the failures helped him to understand the problem. He fixed the software, and the telepods worked.

He then teleported himself, and it worked, but he had a passenger. Unbeknownst to him at the time, there was a housefly inside the telepod with him, and when he teleported, he absorbed the fly's DNA into his own.

At first, he felt great and had improved sexual virility and strength, but it isn't long before he began to mutate. He slowly loses his human features to become a gigantic amalgamation of a human and a fly, and it's disturbing. He eventually gets himself fused with a metal door and some cabling, which is when he begs for death, but most people would have called it a day when they started puking acid all over everything.
