10 Scrapped Horror Movie Scenes Better Than What We Got

7. The POV Ending - Paranormal Activity

If you hadn't already been well and truly spooked by the preceding 90-minutes or so of supernatural drama, then the closing stages of the first Paranormal Activity certainly left viewers with an almighty chill up their spine.

That ending sequence involving a possessed Katie flinging Micah at the camera in the bedroom before lunging at said equipment wasn't the only one writer-director Oren Peli had in mind, though.

As Micah Sloat would tell Entertainment Weekly, a ton of different endings were shot for the film. Some would eventually make their way online, and even pop up in the odd screening, including versions when Katie slit her own throat and was killed by the cops. But one that didn't actually make it in front of the camera seems like the most fascinating of the lot.

The same new camera used to capture so much of the titular activity Micah purchased at the very beginning of the film would have been used to murder him in the end. Katie was set to bludgeon him to death with it, meaning viewers would have seen that death through the POV of the camera. How cool.

Cool, but quite difficult to pull off, which is why it was never shot. But still, there's a chance that sort of creative end would have been just as, if not more memorable than Katie roaring the film to a close.
