Danny and Michael Philippou's debut feature Talk to Me contains a boatload of seriously upsetting moments.

Perhaps the most shocking moment that occurred in a film that also saw people trying to rip their own eyes out of their heads, involved a quick trip to Hell.

Riley (Joe Bird), the same poor kid who attempted that aforementioned eye-pull, is possessed by spirits after taking a turn on the "Talk to Me" hand. Then, when the spirits refuse to leave his body, Mia (Sophie Wilde) tries to save Riley using the hand and ends up seeing him in Hell.

In the movie, viewers only really see flickers of the horrors Riley is experiencing in this limbo. However, there was an even more shocking and messed-up extended version of the sequence shot.

The full version of that horrible scene actually went on for two minutes and 30 seconds, with the directors later telling Cinemablend they would not have gotten away with the rating they ultimately did had they included all the shocking footage.

You could argue that the "little flashes" of the terrifying shots of Riley being tortured by these spirits gave viewers the chance to let their own imaginations fill in the horrifying blanks. But on the other hand, a more prolonged look at the nasty and demented Hell Riley was stuck in the middle of here would have definitely made this already unsettling experience even more chilling.

With Talk to Me 2 in the works, though, perhaps fans will finally get a closer look at this distressing limbo there.
