10 Scrapped Horror Movie Scenes Better Than What We Got

3. All That's Left Is A Head - The Meg

Taking the horrific concept of Jaws and dialling it up to 11, The Meg inevitably saw a number of humans being munched by the gigantic shark.

When it came to one specific death in that first Jason Statham megalodon adventure, though, director Jon Turteltaub was unfortunately forced to cut a far more shocking demise.

The character in question was Rainn Wilson's billionaire Jack Morris, a figure who ends up being eaten alive on a bloody whale after wrongly assuming he'd just narrowly escaped the big fish's bite.

Originally, that scene would have actually involved the camera revealing that only Morris' head, shoulders, and hands had survived this megalodon attack, a moment described as "freaking awesome" by Turteltaub. Not wanting the film to receive an R-rating, though, the director had no choice but to bite that far more savage and comical death out of his picture in the end.

Hilariously, though, Wilson wasn't even aware the more extreme version of the scene had been scrapped, revealing that the movie he saw still had the gory moment in it (via USA Today).

At least someone got to see this deleted highlight.
