The Theory

According to several rumours, Tony Stark won't be the only former Avenger to make an appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He could be joined by Captain America (or Nomad if you're choosing to believe that rumour), or Black Widow or Nick Fury or all three in some combination.

It's just a shame nobody seems to be hyping a possible appearance by Ant-Man, given how much chemistry the two insect-like heroes had in Civil War. Anyway...

Why It's Believable

If you choose to accept that Homecoming is going to be a Post-Civil War movie as much as it is a Spider-Man stand-alone, the presence of Captain America in particular makes sense. He would be duty-bound to try and interfere if he believes that Tony Stark is looking to indoctrinate Spidey into his ideology. He knows how potentially powerful the wall-crawler is, and given the way the Civil War comic played out, it would make absolute sense that he would be the object of a superhero tug-of-war for power.

It's probably more likely to be a mid-credits scene rather than a big part of the main film, but that is exactly as it should be to set up a more intriguing foundation for Spidey's appearance in Infinity War.
