10 Shocking Times Movie Heroes Completely Lost Control

5. Peter Parker - Spiderman 3

Kingsman Secret Service
Sony Pictures

Peter Parker has always been something of a nerd, however Tobey Maguire's version of the character in the original Sam Raimi trilogy is arguably the dorkiest loser audiences will ever see. For the most part, there isn't even a hint of the coolness shown by Andrew Garfield, or even the cute charm displayed by Tom Holland in the Maguire-era.

To see this Peter Parker absolutely lose it is, therefore, truly shocking.

Spiderman 3 really is a film about anger and being consumed by your emotions. When an alien symbiote, that would become Venom later on in the film, crash lands on Earth, it picks out Peter Parker as a suitable host. Peter has just discovered the real identity of the man who killed his Uncle Ben and the symbiote, perhaps sensing his desire for vengeance, grants him the power of the Black Spider suit. Enhanced with far more strength and an improved amount of confidence, Peter embarks on his mission of hunting down and seemingly killing Flint Marko in the New York sewers.

It becomes clear that Peter becomes attached to the powers of the symbiote, allowing it to take over his everyday life and do damage to the people he holds closest to him.
