10 Shocking Twists That Would Ruin 2016's Biggest Movies
8. Zod Is Doomsday - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Michael Shannon is a PR representative's nightmare. During the junket tours for his recent films, he's appeared unable to keep his mouth shut on clearly confidential details about his involvement in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice; one minute he's in it, the next he's not; in one interview he's claiming he filmed scenes wearing green flippers, but a week later he claims it was all a joke (ha?). What we know for certain is that Shannon is in Batman V Superman - Zod's corpse was seen in the trailer in the possession of LexCorp - suggesting much of the backtracking after potentially spoilerific reveals is just Warner Bros. trying to plug the leak. And what that means is... oh no... All the rumours, speculation and, yes, Shannon Slip-Ups suggest that the epic showdown between Batman and Superman is going to climax with the pair teaming up to fight Doomsday, in this universe an unholy mutation of General Zod at the hands of Lex Luthor. Now, Bats and Supes do eventually need to come to some sort of understanding, but does it need to be through a narrative contrivance that negates a solid villain and reminds everyone of the cack Man Of Steel (Shannon can be a great performer with the right material, his Zod was too happy for his own good)? Of course not.
