4. The Ewoks Worship C-3PO As A God - Return Of The Jedi
Seriously, why would they worship 3PO? Because hes a droid? Look, these guys have been living on a planet full of machines, droids, etc. for years (all the time it must have taken to build that Death Star). How could they not have seen droids before? I actually dont mind the Ewoks in general, because I like the symbolism of indigenous peoples fending off technologically advanced invaders by turning the forest against them. The problem is their cheap representation as primitive. They dont have a sophisticated culture: theyre teddy bears. They have language, which implies intelligence, but they worship a prissy droid as a god. What the what?
