10 Star Wars Spin-Offs Gareth Edwards Needs To Direct

9. Rancor!

Okay we couldn't resist this one! Given that Gareth Edwards has already tried his hand at rebooting Godzilla, what about a monster disaster movie set in the Star Wars universe? It would be a radical departure from the first two movie trilogies, but isn't that the beauty of spin off movies? The opportunity to try something different without impacting the on-going story line? Enter the rancor. Jabba The Hutt's pet certainly made a big impact when it appeared in Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi. Where could this infamous monster appear next? Raging through the streets of Coruscant? Or loose on board a Star Destroyer? Better still, what about an appearance from the Rancor-riding witches of Dathomir from the novel The Courtship Of Princess Leia? Who doesn't want to see Force-wielding warrior women riding these mighty creatures? It would certainly offer a fresh alternative to the Jedi and Sith we have seen so far. Given all the characters worthy of a spin-off, a Star Wars monster movie is a very remote possibility. But there's no denying it would be a lot of fun...
