10 Stars Who Featured In Horror Movies Before They Were Famous

7. George Clooney – Return Of The Killer Tomatoes (1988)

A Nightmare On Elm Street Johnny Depp
Four Square Productions

The two-time People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive became famous when he landed the role of Dr Doug Ross in the medical drama ER in 1994.

Six years earlier, after getting a taste for horror with bit parts in Return to Horror High and Grizzly II: The Concert, he stepped up to defend the world as Matt Stevens in Return of the Killer Tomatoes.

In this sequel to the 1978 film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, America is recovering from the Great Tomato War and is learning to live without tomatoes, when an evil professor creates a transformation chamber which turns tomatoes into replicas of men and women using toxic waste and music (!?)

The film has gained a cult following, and Clooney even manages to break the fourth wall with a running joke about product placement.

He has largely stayed away from the horror genre since this film, with the notable exception of the Tarantino vampire flick From Dusk till Dawn’ in 1996.
