Last Film Entry: The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)

What's Going On? A whole new trilogy films that may all end up released across 2024!

Granted, the two Strangers films to date - particularly The Strangers: Prey at Night - aren't for everyone, but your writer has a huge appreciation of both of these pictures. Hence, excitement is high here with the knowledge that not just one, not just two, but three new Strangers movies are on the way.

With Renny Harlin (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Deep Blue Sea) directing, the initial plan was to completely reboot the Strangers series. Instead, Harlin is delivering a trilogy that will exist within the same continuity of the prior two pictures.

All three of these movies were filmed at the same time, with the focus on a couple - played by Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale) and Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf) - tormented by the sinister trio of masked killers during a stay at a remote Airbnb. In a broader sense, these movies will focus on how a run-in with Man in the Mask, Dollface, and Pin-Up Girl impacts someone, whilst also fleshing out the backstories of those murderous sorts.

Dubbed The Strangers: Chapter 1, the first of these offerings is scheduled for a May 2024 release, with there rumblings that the other two legs of this trilogy may be served up later in the year.

To whet the appetite, Lionsgate has already given a first-look at what to expect from The Strangers: Chapter 1:
