10 Strangest Movie Changes Made After Filming

3. Changing The Title From Licence Revoked - Licence To Kill

While it's not massively uncommon or out-of-the-ordinary for movie titles to change after filming has wrapped, usually it's for a pretty obvious reason - perhaps to avoid comparisons to another movie, or in a desperate attempt to make the film sound more exciting.

As for Timothy Dalton's second and sadly final James Bond film Licence to Kill, it was actually written and shot under the title "Licence Revoked."

The reason for the post-shooting change, then? Test screenings for American audiences resulted in the discovery that stateside viewers identified the title less with 007 than somebody having their driver's licence taken away.

And so, with the U.S. being one of the Bond franchise's critical markets, the decision was made to give the movie a global rename, including the word "kill" in the title to ensure nobody would mix it up with a cutesy rom-com about a driving instructor... or something.

Unlike many instances on this list, this was absolutely a good change - Licence to Kill is a much punchier, more memorable title.
