10 Surprising Horror Movie Cameos
4. Eli Roth Mocks Kurt Russell In Death Proof
Much like his heroes, Roth never had a problem casting himself in his work, first appearing as a stoner in his breakout hit Cabin Fever. Since then, he's parlayed himself a decent acting career, regularly appearing in friend's projects. It started getting serious, however, after he took the role of Donny "The Bear Jew" Donowitz in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds - a role written for Adam Sandler.
Had he not been surrounded by such an amazing ensemble, his role would have been scene-stealing, but there were hints at a good actor in his small cameo in Tarantino's contribution to Grindhouse - Death Proof.
He appears for the better part of the first act as a bar patron, but his dialogue is scarce and seems improvised. He and his drinking buddy just hang at the bar, mocking lead killer Kurt Russell's get-up with the chorus of "Eastbound and Down".
