10 Teaser Trailers Better Than The Actual Movie

6. Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Kingsman: The Secret Service was the spy movie equivalent of Scream and was a perfect modernization of the espionage genre. Fittingly, the film's success led to a quickly greenlit sequel that promised to be everything its predecessor was and more. After the first teaser was released and represented that next step for the series, there was little doubt it'd live up to its promise.

While others on this list fell victim to obvious studio meddling and creative restrictions, The Golden Circle seemed to be a result of over-embellishment. A cast that's far too big for its own good, a script that lacks much of the previous film's cleverness, and action sequences that felt too artificial to be invested in. It makes the runtime feel an hour longer than it is, and it's only 10 minutes more than the first movie's.

Golden Circle is an overstuffed turkey, but the teaser hints at what a slimmed-down, straightforward version of the sequel could've been: an excellent, irreverent spy film that never becomes a full-on spoof, but never mimics the dramatic nature of recent Bond films.
