10 Terrible 2017 Films That Will Get Sequels Anyway
3. Justice League
To call Justice League terrible is ever so slightly harsh, but it's easily one of the most disappointing movies of 2017 and it didn't hit its targets at the box office either.
A film where some of the most iconic superheroes of all time team up to tackle an inter-dimensional threat should have been more memorable than this. The special effects were ropey, the action scenes forgettable and the whole thing was rushed from the get-go.
Warner Bros were expecting the film to rack up more than $655.1 million after investing $300 million in it (not that it shows based on some of that horrible CGI), but the studio isn't about to abruptly dismantle the DC Extended Universe.
Somewhere down the line, there will be a Justice League 2. Probably after DC and Warner have taken some of their characters back to the drawing board in solo films, bit it's going to happen nevertheless.
The original Justice League attempted to set this up with a post-credits scene featuring Lex Luthor and Deathstroke which teased the formation of the Injustice League. Whether this sequence was a building block for Justice League 2, or some other DCEU movie remains to be seen.
